Program Aplikasi (Application Programs)

Program aplikasi (Application Prorams) : Program yang digunakan khusus untuk tujuan tertentu atau Program yang biasa dipakai oleh pemakai untuk melakukan tugas-tugas yang spesifik (The program used specifically for a particular purpose or program used by the user to perform specific tasks).

PC Software Characteristics :

Ø User-friendly,

Ø Easy (mudah),

Ø Intuitive, and

Ø Minimum training and documentation needed to use.

III. Software Types Packaged or Commercial :

1. Sold in stores, catalogs, or downloadable from the WWW,

2. Purchased from software publishers, and

3. Must be installed :

a. Standard or custom installation,

b. The setup process copies some of all of the software to the hard disk,

c. May require the CD-ROM to be in the drive to run.

I V. Pembagian Program Aplikasi (Distribution of application programs) :

1. Word Processing (Pengolah kata)‏ : merupakan aplikasi yang berorientasi pada pengolah kata (an application – oriented word processor).

Examples :

Ø Microsoft Word,

Ø Open Office Writer.

2. Spreadsheet (Pengolah angka)‏ : merupakan aplikasi yang berorientasi pada pengolah angka (an application-oriented processing numbers).

Examples :

Ø Microsoft Excel,

Ø Open Office Calc.

3. Presentasi (Presentation) : merupakan aplikasi yang berorientasi pada pembuatan presentasi (an application-oriented presentation creation).

Examples :

Ø Microsoft Power Point,

Ø Open Office Impress, and

Ø Macromedia Flash.

4. Database (Pengolah data) : merupakan aplikasi yang berorientasi pada pengolah data (an application-oriented data processing).

Examples :

Ø Microsoft Access,

Ø dBase III,

Ø Foxpro, and

Ø Open Office Base.

5. Design Grafis (Pengolah Gambar) ‏:

Ø Microsoft Picture Manager,

Ø Open Office Draw, and Paint.

6. CAD (Computer Aid Design) : merupakan aplikasi yang berorientasi pada rancangan bangunan dan mesin (an application-oriented design of buildings and machinery).

Examples :

Ø AutoCAD, and

Ø 3Dmax.

7. Multimedia Design : merupakan aplikasi yang digunakan untuk merubah data menjadi hiburan ( Multimedia Design is an application used to convert data into intertainment).

Examples :

Ø Winamp,

Ø Media Player,

Ø Real Player, dan

Ø Cyberlink Power DVD.

8. Internet Browser : merupakan aplikasi yang digunakan mencari informasi lewat internet (Internet Browser is application used to find information via the internet).

Examples :

Ø Internet Explorer,
